Happy National Iced Tea Month! Yes, it's June, it's hot and nothing sounds quite as refreshing as a glass of iced tea. Unless, of course, it's an ice pop made with iced tea!
I'm always looking for ways to stay healthy and hydrated out on the tennis court. Whether it's drinking fruit-infused water (How and Why to Make Fruit-Infused Waters), trying out green smoothies (The Tennis Fixation Green Smoothie), or switching to almond milk in my coffee (I Heart Almond Milk), I'm always trying new ways to get more fit with my nutrition.
So, I'm excited about celebrating National Iced Tea Month with Pure Via. And I'm especially excited because I have a fun, easy and healthy recipe AND a wonderful giveaway for you. The nice folks at Whole Earth Sweetener Company sent me a “Pure Via Summer Fit Kit” with all kinds of goodies in it and they've got one for the winner of my giveaway, which you can enter below.
The main things in this kit are, of course, several kinds of Pure Via. Pure Via is an all-natural sweetener that is made with stevia and has zero calories. The Fit Kit has two types of Pure Via in it – individual serving packets of non-GMO Pure Via crystals and two different types of Pure Via liquid drops, plain and vanilla flavored. I've tried all of these in my coffee, on fresh fruit, and in my ice pop recipe and I'm definitely loving this sweetener.
So what else is in the Pure Via Summer Fit Kit? Check it out:
Here's what you get in the Pure Via Summer Fit Kit: a box of Pure Via non-GMO packets, a bottle of Pure Via stevia liquid, a bottle of Pure Via vanilla stevia liquid, a container of instant iced tea, a Pure Via mason jar and straw, a Pure Via pedometer, and a Pure Via SPF 15 lip balm. Can I just say, I love all of these items, think they're so cute but I absolutely LOVE the lip balm. It is super sweet and super tasty.
So I put together this ice pop recipe using the Pure Via liquid sweetener. It has green tea in it, which contains tons of antioxidants, and fresh mint, which is full of minerals and Vitamin C. And, bonus, it has virtually no calories at all thanks to the Pure Via! Win!
HYDRATING & HEALTHY MINTY GREEN TEA ICE POPS RECIPE
Makes about 8 servings
32 ounces green tea
1 to 2 teaspoons Pure Via® stevia liquid
12 to 16 fresh peppermint leaves
Combine green tea, Pure Via stevia liquid and mint leaves in blender. Blend thoroughly until mint leaves are pulverized. Pour into ice pop molds and insert pop sticks. Freeze and then enjoy!
Take a look at these pretty, tasty ice pops:
And, if ice pops aren't your thing, this recipe makes a wonderful glass of iced tea without the freezing step. Something you can definitely take with you to enjoy after a tennis match.
Now here's the good part – the giveaway! The winner of this giveaway will win a Pure Via Summer Fit Kit, just like the one I received which is pictured above. The giveaway will run from today (Monday, June 16, 2014) through next Sunday (June 23, at 11:59 p.m. Central). A winner will be drawn from all of the entries I receive and that winner's name will be announced here on the Tennis Fixation blog. After the announcement, I'll need the winner to email me their mailing address so that a Pure Via Summer Fit Kit can be shipped out to the winner. Just FYI – you must have a mailing address in the United States to win.
While there are lots and lots of ways to enter this giveaway, there is one mandatory way to enter and that is to leave a comment on this blog post. So go ahead and enter now and then get just as many bonus entries as you want. Enter using the form below:
And please send me your favorite iced tea recipes this month. I'd love to whip a few things up to tote out to my next tennis match!
