Yes, it’s time, once again, for the Tennis Fixation Holiday Gift Guide!
Each year, I scour my favorite shops and sources, searching out the latest, cutest, most dazzling tennis items that players like you and me would love to give or receive for Christmas/Hanukkah/pick-your-holiday. As always, I have found plenty of great items that would be great to give to my favorite tennis partners, pals and players. And even more stuff that I would like to have myself. Shopping for tennis gear, equipment, outfits, accessories is a never-ending job for me!
Anyway, here are my must-have items for every tennis player out there. Let's get shopping!
Life Is Tennis Arctic Leopard Cooljet Tennis Bag – I always like to start my Holiday Gift Guide with at least one really great tennis bag (although I usually love several) and this year I've found one I'm completely coveting. It is the “Life Is Tennis” Cooljet Tennis Bag in Arctic Leopard. The strap zips and unzips so it can be worn as a sling or a backpack. It can accommodate two racquets and includes a cell phone holder and fence hook. And best of all – it's pretty darn cheap, just $61.93 at Tennis Express right now.
Asics Women's Gel Solution Speed Tennis Shoe – This is the year tennis shoe manufacturers how finally figured it out – what we women want is color! Everywhere! Including our shoes! I myself made the transition over to Asics tennis shoes just because they were do danged perky and colorful. And these Gel Solution Speeds are definitely adorable enough to please any female tennis player. The colors according to Asics are Beetroot Purple, Black and White. I myself would call that Hot Pink because (1) that is in fact what the color is, and (2) we ladies are not all that keen to wear a color described with the word “Beetroot.” But whatever you call them, they're still hot and sure to please.
Trigger Point Performance Foam Roller – I've just started using one of these and I have to say – I absolutely love my foam roller. It is the perfect tool for getting some very deep muscle massage and helps in increasing range of motion and decreasing muscle tightness. And these things are available in all price ranges. This one, from Trigger Point Performance, comes in several cute colors (including hot pink) and is available for less than $40.00.
Serve to Win by Novak Djokovic – Here's a book that I've been dying to read but haven't had the time yet. Everyone knows how Novak Djokovic's adoption of a gluten-free diet amped up his game and took him from being a serious contender who sometimes couldn't make it to the end of a match to being a force to deal with every time he steps on court. I don't have any kind of gluten intolerance but wouldn't mind knowing just what he does to get himself in such incredible shape and to have the endurance to keep it up for hours on end. And I'm sure the die-hard tennis fans in your life would be just as interested in reading this book and finding out Novak's secrets.
Lacoste Challenge Duffle Bag – Maybe that special tennis player in your life is a guy who works out on a regular basis. Or maybe he's a non-tennis-player guy who does the same (but then, how special could he be). Whatever his sport of choice, this Lacoste Challenge Duffle Bag is sure to please the sporty, fit man. This bag is made of super-durable PVC and is lined inside for protection from yucky, sweaty things. It really pops in bright orange, features numerous Lacoste logs, and has an adjustable strap that is large enough to be worn cross-body. I love it at only $116.00.
Ugly Sweater Unisex Tee – I know a lot of people will think this is just stupid. But I think its cute. Just FYI – I'm hosting an Ugly Christmas Sweater party and items like this are everywhere this year. Everywhere if you shop at Wal-Mart like me. Anyway, I saw this one that combined two of my favorite holiday things – tennis and ugly Christmas sweaters. Anyway, if you're still not convinced, check out the price – only $2.99. Cheap enough to outfit an entire tennis team in these things.
Roger Federer 2014 Calendar – No matter what happens this next year, no matter how many low level players beat him, no matter how many times he fails to make the finals in a Slam, I will always love Roger Federer. And this Roger Federer 2014 Calendar would be the perfect thing hanging over my desk. And I promise – I'm just staring at his incredible tennis form. Not his incredible form.
Hop-a-Razzi Tennis Ball Basket – The nice people at Hop-a-Razzi let me try out one of their tennis ball baskets on wheels and I absolutely loved it. No more dragging the basket around the court. These come in 12 different colors and three different sizes. If you honestly think there's nothing left to buy for your favorite tennis player, this is the gift you absolutely must get for them. Check out their home page soon – they're offering a $10 discount on purchases made through December 20. Here's a photo of my pretty pink one with my pretty pink tennis bag:
I think this is a pretty good list because there's something here for everyone. Just FYI – this is not a sponsored post. These are items I picked because I love them. Many of the on-line retailers I cited in this article are having great holiday sales. Check out their home pages for info on sales, discounts, coupons and holiday shipping deals. Finally, some of these links are affiliate links so if you purchase an item through the link, I will receive a very small commission.
I hope you have a fabulous holiday season, get all of your shopping done, and get a chance to play at least a little bit of tennis soon. Happy Tennis!
