I just played in my very first USTA singles tournament! While I had a great experience, I learned a whole lot of things about playing singles and playing in a tournament. In this episode of Tennis Quick Tips, I give you a behind-the-scenes look into my experience and I give you my five best tips for playing in a tennis tournament. My USTA Singles Tournament - Tennis Quick Tips Podcast 80

SHOW NOTES:

I had such a good time this past weekend playing in my very first USTA singles tournament. Believe it or not, I don't play in a lot of tournaments and I certainly don't play a lot of singles. But one of my goals for this year was to play in three singles tournaments so I went ahead and signed up for the Houston Open.

In this episode, I'm going to give you a few tips I picked up for playing in a tennis tournament. But I'm also going to give you a behind-the-scenes look at my preparation for this tournament and then my experience when I was playing. This is a little bit longer episode than I usually do but I think you'll get a kick out of hearing my thoughts about exactly what I was going through as it was happening.

So here they are, my tips for playing a tennis tournament:

  1. Sign up for a tournament.
  2. Sign up for the right tournament.
  3. Prepare for your tournament.
  4. Pack for your tournament.
  5. Enjoy yourself!

But be sure and listen to the episode so you can get more information on what each of these tips really means and how you can apply them in your next tennis tournament.

And, if you have anything to add, maybe your own tournament tips, let me know in the comments below. I'd also love to hear what you think about the format I used in this episode. Should I do more episodes like this? Just leave me a comment below and tell me what you think.
