According to the United States Professional Tennis Association, “[p]eople who participate in tennis three hours per week at a moderately vigorous intensity cut in half their risk of death from any cause . . . .” Repeat – tennis can cut your risk of death in half!
I read this on-line in the USPTA's publication Tennis – For the Health of It! How does it work? I don't know. Probably something about exercising and socializing and mental strategizing. Whatever. If it saves me from dying anytime soon, I'm all for it!
So what are you waiting for? Get out there and prevent yourself from dying – play some tennis!
